Instructor Led / Webinar Sessions

I have developed many instructor led training programs (synchronous and asynchronous). I have detailed two courses below. There are many more I can discuss with you further if you would like to contact me.

I use my knowledge of adult learing theory to recommend appropriate instructional delivery methods, create exercises, write lesson plans, create handouts, and develop examinations. I consult with project stakeholders at all points in development to incorporate technical and schedule requirements into the overall design process and make key recommendations for design to meet specific program requirements.

Learning materials typically include slides, instructor and participant guides, job aids and hands-on activities. I think its important for the students take something away from the class. For this purpose, I typically design participant guides to use in class; with ample margins for notes to consult later. I also think its crucial for instructors to have a guide. I typically design the instructor guide with larger print, for ease on the eyes, as the instructor moves about the room. I also add handy notes and tips for the instructor that might help stimulate discussion at certain points.

Opportunity Management

As some companies do, travel costs needed to be reduced. Our Opportunity Management class needed to be transformed from an in-person session to an online session. We designed a 3 day (45 minute) online (virtual training) event. I helped design 3 slide decks for the classroom. I organized lesson plans, which included in class activities. Homework assignments focused on a scenario based case study. There were so many materials and instructions to manage, that we designed a webpage to house all the files for students to download.

Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, Adobe Fireworks, and Adobe InDesign were all used to develop these materials. The WebEx virtual interface was used to deliver this material.

Introduction to AC Drives

While at Schneider Electric I worked with SMEs to help them achieve a hands on lab experience for their AC Drives Start Up certification program. This class was a 3 day course designed to instruct users on the start up and running of an AC Drive. I designed several hands on lab exercises to actually start and run a motor, a participant guide and facilitator guide.

The student used their Participant Guide books to follow the steps necessary to run the drive in various states.

I used InDesign for the Participant and Instructor Guides. I used Power Point for the classroom slide decks.

Worldwide Enablement Sales Field Kickoff 2022

At the start of each year the Citrix Worldwide Sales Enablement team holds a global in-person Field Kickoff Session to fire up reps for the new selling year. We use this time with everyone together to focus our reps on the coming year's sales plays. In 2022, we added the Instructional Design team to the enablement planning committee.

By providing needs analysis, adult learning theory, and interactivity to sales sessions that didn’t exist in the year prior the NPS score of our Global Field Sales Kickoff increased by 22 points!

Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, Adobe InDesign, were all used to develop these materials.
